One Flower Wednesday

Two flowers this Wednesday.  I need to speed up production on these bright hexi flowers.  I have a new granddaughter coming in September and thought I would use the bright colored flowers I've been making in a quilt for her.
I also pick up some fabric for another baby quilt.  A great-nephew also arriving in September.

I'm not sure what pattern I will be using for his and I don't know if I'll be using the red fabric.  I've washed it twice and it still bleeds color quite a bit.  I think it needs some red in the quilt though.  Any suggestions?

  3. Rose the colours will be great for a baby quilt. Some people swear by a strong salty water soak for fabrics that bleed, but I can't vouch for that. Perhaps try a supermarket product designed to stop fabric colours bleeding? Might be better dollar-wise to choose another red fabric, rather than spend money trying to 'fix' this one, good luck.

  4. I can't wait to start my first hexi quilt flowers on vacation next week, yours are so inspiring!! LOVE the fabric for the baby boy quilt, I never pre wash quilt fabrics except the backing. Maybe I need to rethink how I do things, I would HATE to have a red bleed on everything else!!

  7. I thought I remembered something about vinegar so I looked it up: one cup white vinegar to 1 quart water and set fabric in it for 24 hours then wash normally........Love the bright blues you picked for those pretty flowers.....the vehicles fabric looks familiar and those colors look great with it.
