One Flower Wednesday

My tub full of fall hexie flowers

I've been working a bit on my fall flower garden.  The light hexies aren't as light as they look in the picture.

I'm going to use perle cotton in fall colors to quilt the tea-stained tone on tone hexies.

It's Wednesday again...............

I have three flowers for this Wednesday-----
I have 22 finished flowers and have fabric cut for 22 more.  These are 1/12 inch hexi's so it makes an
8-inch flower. I think 44 flowers should give me enough blocks to play around with.
Take a stroll through the flower garden at Karen's blog--such pretty flowers!

One Flower Wednesday

I have been busy the last couple of days working on this bright colored garden.

And today I added two more.............

I'm trying to figure out how I want to put this quilt together.  I want to do some embroidery on it with the baby's name, birthdate and such.  Don't know whether to have a center block for that or  maybe have a solid border to do the embroidery on.  I'm finding it's not always easy to fit the hexi-flowers together the way you want them.

Check out all the other pretty flowers for One Flower Wednesday on Karen's blog.

One Flower Wednesday

I finished two hexi flowers today!  If you would like to see more flowers created by other quilters you can hop over to Karen's blog.

Yesterday I posted pictures of my Hocuspocusville quilt blocks.  I should have also put in a picture of the pattern.  The pattern is by Crabapple Hill.

Sorry, another not very good picture--on these cloudy days I have really bad lighting in my little cabin.

Another Fall Project

We have had a taste of nice spring weather, but now we're back to cool and rainy. So I've been working on paper pieced hexagons done in fall colors, while watching it turn green outside.  These are all from scraps--don't know how I ended up with so many of these colors, but fall is my favorite time of year, so I guess that's what I'm drawn to. I love earthy tones.

I have 53 flowers completed and 62 more flowers to sew together.
I'm hoping to have enough to make 2 small quilts.  I haven't quite decided how I want to put them together.  I thought about using a tea-stained tone on tone to scatter between the flowers. Then I would quilt them using perle cotton in fall colors.
Once all my flowers are done it will be fun to start laying them out to see what I can come up with.
This is my little plastic snap-tote that I found to keep my hexagons in.  I really like it because I can keep a supply of blocks, paper pieces, my little pincushion for a couple pins and needles, scissors and thread so I can work on my flowers wherever I go.
